Scent Throw

How strong will my candle smell?

Our candles are made with coconut wax, which gives a cleaner burn and better scent throw than standard paraffin. Scent strength is also affected by room size, ventilation, and how you care for the candle.

How do I get the most out of my scent?

First burn: Allow the wax to melt all the way to the edge of the jar (a full melt pool) before extinguishing — typically 1.5 to 2 hours. This prevents tunnelling and ensures an even, strong scent throughout the candle's life.
Subsequent burns: Trim the wick to around 5mm before each re-light to maintain an even, clean flame.
Reed diffusers: Use all the reeds provided for a stronger scent in medium to large rooms. Turn the reeds daily to refresh the fragrance.

How long do reed diffusers last?

Our 100ml reed diffusers (including Whispers of Oudh and Maison Muse) last up to 3 to 4 months.

Burn times vary by product:

Maison Muse Collection: approximately 30 hours
Quoted Islamic / Secret 99 Names Candles: approximately 25–30 hours

4 Daisy Wax Melts: each Daisy melt lasts 6–12 hours depending on scent

Why is my candle burning unevenly?

Uneven burns are almost always caused by a wick that is too long or a burn session that was too short. Follow the first-burn and wick-trimming guidance above. Keep candles away from draughts and fans, which can push the flame to one side.

What can I personalise?

We offer personalisation on a range of products, including mini bubble candle favours, favour boxes, engraved candles and tins, and gift wrapping. You can customise names, initials or monograms, quotes, event dates, colours, and custom text or images depending on the product.

How do I make sure my personalisation is correct?

Please double-check all text, spelling, dates, and colour choices before placing your order. Because every personalised item is made to order specifically for you, custom and personalised items are strictly non-refundable and non-exchangeable once production has begun. We are unable to accept returns or amendments after an order has been placed.

Will I receive a proof before my order goes into production?

A digital proof step is not part of our standard order process. This makes it especially important to review all personalisation details carefully at checkout. If you have a complex or bespoke requirement, please get in touch before placing your order so we can discuss your needs.

How many favours do I need for my event?

As a general guide, order one favour per guest. For weddings and larger celebrations, we recommend adding a small buffer (around 5–10%) to account for last-minute additions to your guest list.

How far in advance should I order for a wedding or large event?

We recommend ordering at least 4 to 6 weeks in advance for larger guest counts or heavily personalised favours. If your event is more than a month away, placing your order at least 2 weeks before the event date helps ensure your candles arrive at peak fragrance freshness. Candles stored for longer should be kept in an airtight container away from direct sunlight.

How quickly are orders made and dispatched?

All our candles are handcrafted to order. Production and dispatch times vary by product:

Standard orders: dispatched within 1–2 working days (Monday–Friday, excluding Bank Holidays)
Most favour and custom orders: dispatched within 1–3 working days
Custom Tag Party Gifts, Peony Pillar Candles, and Mini Bubble Candle Favours: dispatched within 5–7 working days
